Help your patients understand how their eyes work, how to care for their eyes, their children's eyes, and what tests they may receive during an eye exam.
As with other artificial tears, HypoTears may be associated with short-lived stinging and/or burning, and local irritation.
Patients should be instructed to discontinue use of HypoTears and consult a physician if they experience any of the following:
Eye pain
Changes in vision
Continued redness or irritation of the eye
If the condition worsens or persists for more than 72 hours
Advise your patients to keep HypoTears out of the reach of children. In case of accidental ingestion, seek professional assistance or contact a poison control center immediately.
Contraindications
HypoTears should not be taken by anyone with a known hypersensitivity to any of its active or inactive ingredients.
HypoTears Lubricant Eye Drops:
Active ingredients: Polyvinyl alcohol (1%), polyethylene glycol 400 (1%).
Inactive ingredients: Lipiden™ Vehicle (dextrose, edetate disodium, and purified water). Preserved with benzalkonium chloride, 0.1 mg/mL.
