HypoTears is an OTC artificial tears product, indicated for temporary relief of burning and irritation due to dryness of the eye or to exposure to wind or sun. HypoTears also help protect against further eye irritation.
HypoTears contain the active ingredients: polyvinyl alcohol and polyethylene glycol 400.
Both formulas come in the same strength: 1% polyvinyl alcohol and 1% polyethylene glycol 400.
Using HypoTears
Instruct your patients to administer 1 to 2 drops of HypoTears in the affected eye(s) as needed.
Patients who wear contact lenses should be advised to remove them before administering HypoTears in their eyes. After 15 minutes, the lenses can be reinserted.
